The DT601 is a powerful drone detector /tracker which can be used by security personnel to be alerted to drone attacks into designated no fly zones. The small unit is easy to carry and contains a vibrating alarm which only alerts when a drone is detected. The sophisticated software not only can identify the type of drone by analysing the protocol its using but also separate both signals from the pilot’s controller and the actual drone itself.

The colour screen displays both the drone signal strength as it flies in but also identifies the signals from the controller to estimate the distance to the pilots location. Once the drone signal is lost a record of the event is recorded in the unit and the event counter updated. This allows security personnel to scroll through the alarms to see both date and time of each event but also the protocol the drone is using ( which helps identify the type of drone being used) and records the estimated distance from the launch point which allows authorities to search suitable launch sites as they now know time and distance.

The DT601 has a USB C port which allows the user to port the event log to a PC for further investigation and storage. This port is also used to upgrade the unit with additional firmware features as new drones come to market thus making the unit future proof.

On the event log each event (detected drone incursions) each entry gives the date, time the drone was detected and then the time the drone detection was lost.

The type column, would be LBr for Lightbridge-these are older drones, OC2,3 are for the newer drones. As there is no detectable difference in the actual transmission patterns, we record it as both OC2,3.

For the very latest drones OC4 is a significant change to the protocol so we identify is protocol separately.

The final column, labelled distance, is the estimated distance of the controlled (launch point).

This allows security staff to look at the events and if the distance is the same then the pilot is making multiple delivery fights as in contraband shipments into a prison.

For greater accuracy the unit should be set to either CE for European drones and FCC in the Americas as drones are permitted to operate at much higher powers
